SpanishAndHolidays is a different form of language tours, in which you can learn Spanish and have a holiday: in small groups of up to six students, young people are given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the Spanish language and practise it in real-life situations under professional guidance.
Although language learning is the priority with us, students should also be able to have a real holiday and relax. And where could you achieve that better than here?
SpanishAndHolidays is also an ideal springboard for families who are planning to take the plunge and become expatriates in Spain. Sadly, not speaking the language or if you only know the country from holidays and the internet, often leads to misjudgements and lack of integration (especially for the children) among expat families, which in turn, result in frustration and, more than once, in a sudden end to an anticipated happy life under the Spanish sun.
As our main target group are young people (or those who have remained young!) it is very important for us to keep prices low. It is easy to see why our low prices do not mean low quality: We are a family business that has accommodation and teaching know-how. What we don't have is a middleman who wants his share. The only ‘disadvantage' is that we can unfortunately only take up to six students at a time.
Method
Learning Spanish at SpanishAndHolidays is entertaining and motivating, being based on modern teaching methods which focus on the student rather than the teacher as the centre of the learning process. It goes without saying that our teacher, María Dolores, possesses a university degree in linguistics and has widened her knowledge in many ELE teacher training courses and the school of life.
The classes or teaching units consist of two 60-minute lessons, which are usually held in the morning. On average the first of these lessons are dedicated to classroom learning, whereas in the second lesson the recently learnt language contents are put into practise in the streets, the market, restaurants, etc. of the town. Outside the classes students can also participate in other activities, such as flamenco dancing, diving courses or paella cooking (see Extras)
Courses
The courses always start on Monday morning with class and consist of five teaching units as described above, which gives a total of 10 lessons per week (extra lessons can be arranged) and finish on Sunday. Sunday is also the arrival and departure day. If available – written request necessary! – we can also arrange a prolonged stay either before or after the course.
The number of participants is limited to six and all participants have to be over 18 years old.
Accommodation
The accommodation is a beautifully situated apartment just across the road from the Mediterranean coast in the picturesque town of Jávea.

Up to four students share this apartment consisting of 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living- and dining-room and a spacious terrace with great views. It is situated on the second floor of a three storey building without a lift, wherefore it is, unfortunately, not suited for people who have difficulty walking.
In the case of a group consisting of more than four people, a room can be rented, with additional cost, in the nearby hotel (please consult prices when booking, as they depend on the season).
About Jávea
Jávea is a jewel on Spain's eastern Mediterranean coast.

Jávea is located on the Costa Blanca (map), midway between Valencia (in the north) and Alicante (in the south). Both cities have an airport and are within about one hour's comfortable drive on the AP7 motorway. Jávea itself is a town of around 30.000 inhabitants, which, in spite of the building boom of the last years, has conserved a medieval centre and a picturesque port. Luckily it has been spared the vertical construction rabies that has destroyed so much of Spain's coastline and has remained a holiday paradise for those who are looking for relaxation.
